At Rachel Rubin MD, we're building something bigger than a medical practice. We are a nationally recognized urology and sexual medicine practice based in Bethesda, Maryland, caring for patients of all genders with complex and often overlooked conditions—including sexual function concerns, menopause, pelvic pain, urinary conditions, recurrent infections, and hormone therapy.

But our impact extends far beyond the exam room. Through patient care, clinician education, research, and advocacy, we're helping reshape how sexual medicine and women's health are understood and practiced across the country.

Founded by Dr. Rachel Rubin, a board-certified urologist and nationally recognized leader in sexual medicine and menopause car. We work closely with pelvic floor physical therapists, sex therapists, and other specialists to provide truly multidisciplinary, evidence-based care.

 

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing clinical team.

This is a patient-facing role where you'll work alongside nationally recognized physicians, build meaningful relationships with patients, and gain experience in one of the fastest-growing and most underserved areas of medicine.

No prior medical experience is required.

Your Core Responsibilities

Clinical & Procedural Support

• Room patients and assist with patient flow throughout the clinic

• Prepare, clean, and turn over exam and procedure rooms

• Set up, position, and break down equipment for procedures

• Anticipate physician needs and provide support during examinations and procedures

• Clean and sterilize instruments, including operation of an autoclave

• Participate in ongoing clinical training to support physicians in specialized areas including hormone therapy and sexual medicine

Patient Care & Education

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits and procedures

• Obtain and document procedure consents

• Explain procedures and answer patient questions

• Review aftercare instructions and provide patient education

• Triage patient questions under physician direction

• Help create a warm, compassionate, and supportive patient experience

Clinical Documentation & Workflow

• Pre-chart and scribe for physicians during patient visits

• Capture and upload clinical images into the electronic medical record

• Process laboratory specimens including swabs, cultures, PAPs, and biopsies

• Track physician tasks and maintain clinical workflow queues

Administrative & Operational Support

• Support daily clinical and office operations

• Assist with patient communication by phone and portal

• Create and maintain accurate patient demographic and clinical information in the electronic medical record

• Assist with additional operational projects as the practice continues to grow

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required (Bachelor's degree preferred)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Dependable, professional, and eager to learn

• Comfortable learning new technology and clinical workflows

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize issues, think through solutions, and know when to ask for help.

• Up-to-date immunizations as required for clinical staff

• Ability to commute to Bethesda, Maryland

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant or healthcare experience

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Cerbo experience is a plus)

• Interest in women's health, urology, sexual medicine, menopause care, or hormone therapy

• Experience in a concierge or private practice setting

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Full-Time Salary: $42,000–$50,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.

• Performance Bonuses: Additional compensation opportunities tied to performance and organizational growth.
